About the Artist
Ella MacVeagh
Ella MacVeagh graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Neuroscience and Visual Art.
Ella grew up attending the Farm School where she fell in love with cows. In Ella's artistic career, cows have been a constant image that she keeps coming back to. She finds that cows have an inquisitive and gentle nature about them that draws her to them, but also a huge amount of physical power that earns her respect. The form of the cow in her work can often be equated to represent the feminine entity, the power in standing together and how the feminine body is often used for profit in our society. However, it's also fair to say that Ella just really likes cows.
Ella makes art for the joy it brings her and through her work, hopes to share a little bit of that happiness with everyone else.
